Golf GTI - Heated Seats

Hi there people.
I have a 2006 Golf GTI which has full leather, electric seat on the drivers side but manual on the passenger side. Unfortuantly there are no controls for Heated Seats which I thought came as standard when you got leather??

Anyway, my question is.......Does anyone know how I can confirm if the seats already have the heating elements fitted? I'm hoping that these would be fitted as standard into the seats! If so, I would then look at changing the control panel and checking wiring etc

Any ideas or help would be greatly apreciated.

I think the best way to find out would be to visit your loca vw garage and ask them to spec the car up for you from the cars reg as i 'thought' that all full leather interior gti's (mk5) came with heated front seats as standard but not electric seats just electric lumbar support (like mine).

If you do not have the heated seats swtiches on the dash then i would imagine you do not have heated seats and someone has fitted full leather seats as an after market fit (correct me but, thinking about it now, i thought the previous gti's had half leather seats (tartan middles and leather sides).

Be well worth checking and finding out.

Yep, I guess the seats have been retro fiitted. They also don't look like other seats I've seen in other GTI's so not sure what they came out of. I might take a piccy and post on here to see if anyone recognises them. I just wondered if there was a way to find out if they had the heating pads already installed?
The driver's side is FULL electric. Not just lumbar support.
I have to book it in for a service today so might ask the dealer some questions.
