Tyres on Golf Mk6 1.6 Tdi 105

Asking any members who have taken delivery of a Golf Mk6 1.6Tdi 105 during last few months which tyres were fitted by the factory?

What tyres and rims do you have fitted Phil? It seems to matter which rims you have fitted as to which tyres you get. I got a 1.6 (105) S TDI via the scrappage scheme and the dealer threw in a set of Wellington alloys for free. They came with a set of Continental Eco Contact3, which I'm very pleased with, especially as they are far quieter than the tyres on the dealer's demonstrator.

My wheels are 16inch Atlanta and the tryes fitted were Hankook K105 205/55R16 91v which I had never heard of. I thought with the car being a SE trim it would have had at least a well known make of tyre fitted. I was just wondering which other tyres had been fitted.

Unlucky !

Hankook seem to feature quite heavily on S models with steel wheels. Not the worst tyre int he world, but i agree when you are suppodely buying a premium hatchback, and paying ca£18k you expect to see Dunlop, Bridgestone, Pirelli or Michelins at each corner.
