Hey everyone! Newbie on this forum and would like help and info from anyone who can help me.

Im thinking of purchasing a fully loaded MK5 R32 because i really like the look of the mk5 r32 and i love the layout and the look of it. Also the thing that i really swaying me is the exhaust note of the car - especially when the exhaust system is played with!

However ... i am also thinking maybe get on the list now for a MK6 GT-R. Again get it fully spec'd. Obviously it will cost more however it will be a newer car and ordered to my requirments. Love the LED rear and front lights and love the width of the mk6 .. it sits really well. However i will miss the exhaust note of the 3.2 litre engine in the Mk5!

What do the knowledgable people of the forum suggest ???

Also if you suggest the MK6 2.0T GT-R .. what can i do to really enhance the exhaust note (i will be buying the DSG form)

    CHEERS!

Sounds like you should go for the R32, then buy an R in a couple of years; you could always flip a coin...either way you cant really go wrong

    I'd go for an R32... Nice sounding V6 over a 2.0T? I know which I'd choose
Audi A3 Sportback 2.0 TDi SE: Misano red, Kinetic 17s, Comfort package, Storage package, non smoking package, Nav, Upgrade to Audi sound system, Debadged

Mmm, interesting choice. A colleague of mine has an R32 (Mk V)....he has had some nice cars and absolutely loves it. Next to my Mk VI GT it still looks great. And there's nothing quite like a multi-cylinder engine/exhaust note. The Mk VI GTI has some electronic enhancement to its engine note I believe, perhaps they'll do something similar with the GTR?

A slight downside to the Mk V to my mind is the poorer interior quality. The "metal" inserts across the dash looks like silver gift box material from Clinton Cards to me....just ever so slightly tacky. Just my opinion of course. And it might just be me but the front grille of the Mk V R32 makes the car look a bit like a Jetta until you get close to it.

The other thing to consider will be CO2 figures. The V6 is a beast with high CO2....will cost loads more to tax/fuel etc.

I envy your choice....no doubt they would both satisfy you. Good luck.

    Steve
