    Default boot open's when lights are turned off – 10-11-2009,09:53 PM
    HI all just a little problem with my 2005 audi a4 avant the boot only opens if you turn the lights off or if you press the remote strange can any body advise cheers

    Hi & welcome to the forum.

    My initial thoughts are that you've got an internally-leaking rear washer jet.
    (Do you get a nice strong jet from the rear wash jet or is it a bit weak?)

    The electronics in the tailgate have probably got wet; resulting in the strange goings-on!

    Take the tailgate plastics off and see if there are signs of water damage & report back
