    Hi Guys,

Ive just ordered Vag Com to get the codes from my car which has suddenly decided to throw a wobbly.

The wife has been driving it and on 2 occasions now the ABS light has come on whilst driving round a roundabout, the ABS kicks in as she can hear it grinding and the Red brake warning light comes up on the dash. It then remains on for the remainder of the journey.

Last week the brake pad warning light did come on but I know from experience there is generally loads of pad left once the warning light comes on.

Ive seen a couple of posts on other sites that this could be ABS sensor.

I'll get the codes on here when my cable turns up but anyone got any ideas in the meantime ?

Luckily we have another car so its not a major deal it being sat on the drive for a while.

Also, on the use of Vag Com, does the car store the codes itself so they will just appear when I plug in and scan, or do I need to drive the car with the laptop plugged in for the fault to then appear when the abs light comes on ?

    Cheers
    Newt1

    Hi Chaps,

Done a full autoscan and this is all it came back with :

    Chassis Type: 8E - Audi A4 B6
    Scan:01,02,03,08,09,15,16,17,26,36,37,45,46,55,56, 63,76

    Address 03 -------------------------------
    Controller: 8E0 614 517
    Component: ABS/ESP front 3429
    Coding: 04499
    Shop #: WSC 00672
    No fault code found.

Then Ross tech bombed out saying I needed a registered version.
Anything to be gained from what I have already ?

    Help appreciated thanks.
