I go through the routine of turning off the blowers, opening the window, closing the window, turning the radio off, sniffing the vents, slowing down, speeding up, asking passengers if they've got something on their shoes, getting them to sniff each other....

Then, when I finally wrestle my car back under control and get it back on the right side of the road, I spot a C reg Ford Escort belching out black smoke and all is well again.

This happens maybe two or three times a month.

with good reason I must add! I owned a Fiat as my first car. The golf I had after that, had a complete turbo failure, the same fricking day I collected it.

I'm now in a car that has so much going wrong with it, I don't need to worry, whatever breaks, I fix. Whatever works, I leave. Ding dang do.
