I only specced the steel wheels because the alloys available for the S model weren;t great - and so i had planned to immediately buy some aftermarket alloys. But as percymon has said, the ride is much better than i had anticipated with the steelies, and they don;t actually look that bad.

I think vw did a good job on the trims, from some angles they look bigger than the 15" Wellington option to my eyes. I'm considering buying some 15s to fit winter tyres, trims are easy to maintain in winter months too, no scrubbing inside faces of alloys etc etc
