I'm looking to buy an RS4 in the near future. I'm budgeting around £30-£35k I would like sprint blue, but after that, I'm not sure what are the best options to go for/look for.

Are there any things to look out for when buying? I went to look at one today at a local Audi Dealership and it wasn't all that nice. 47k, no buckets, sat nav but no TV and didnt look that tidy, for £36,995. I thought it was rather steep.

What's the newest RS4 you can get? can you get an 08 plate at all?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Incidentally, I'm based in East Yorkshire. I have VAG-COM albeit with limited experience using it... If anyone needs it, come and help yourself.... You can have a go for the price of a pint or two!

For that money I'd get a new shape S4 instead.

Good call- can get Sprint Blue and you can spec bucket seats too. I'm guessing the 3.0T engine is very good as well.

I thought about that, the S4, but the RS4 appeals to me. I'm going to look for a cheaper RS4, hopefully circa £30k. I spoke to a Revo agent today and they believe that the revo remap will take the S4 to around 450bhp. I can get about 18% discount on a brand new s4 due to having a good friend at a local dealership..

Personally, I'd rather stick with the RS4 as the power is already there, where if I remap the s4 then it brings in all implications like warranty, insurance etc...

Ideally the saloon, but the Avant at a push. What is worth looking for? Are there any options that can be retro fitted?

You can retro-fit anything if your pockets are deep enough, what are you thinking about?

I'd still buy an S4 though, a new car vs and old car? Its a no-brainer for me, the RS4 is getting on a bit now and isnt cheap to fix - especially the DRC suspension system.

I havent first hand experience of a mapped S4 but surely at 450BHP it will be ahead of the RS in performance (and running costs!)

Yep, I hear what you are saying, but the new S4 jsut hasn't got the look of the RS4 and I've heard that the B7 is the very last ever RS model so I'm keen to get one.... Besides, the new S4, they can't even get the badging right- on the front wheelarches it says "V6T" and the engine is supercharged! lol

Who told you that?! Garbage IMO. The RS models will continue for sure, RS6, TT etc, an A4 based version will be on the cards in the next few years. It'd be like BMW stopping the 'M' models - never gonna happen!

I've heard the new RS4 will add a Turbo to the new S4 engine making it supercharged and turbo'd.....

The worst thing evo magazine could say about new S4 was the DRL's were a bit flashy....gotta be good hey?

Sorry, I've mis-explained myself. I meant that the current A4 will not have an RS model. Apparently they are skipping this edition due to the other 'RS' models that are out/coming out. If you google for it you will see.
