I have a 2005 (55) A6 Avant with an intermittent high level brake light fault. Sometimes it works fine, other times it doesn't and it displays a bulb fault light on the dash.

When the fault light is on, the whole light bar is out, not just one bulb.

I'm thinking that there may be a loose wire in the bar itself....

    Any ideas welcome please.

    Steve

I had a similar fault, it was the led bulbs that were at fault, gave it to a Friend of mine who broke them out and soldered in new ones, each led cost pennies! Took him about an hour to do...
