    Hi guys

Sorry to repeat a question im sure you have all heard a thousand times, but i have read various different threads and heard different things about when cambelt is due so thought i would find out for certain from you guys

    1. I have just brought a golf mk5 1.9tdi 2006(06) with 61k on the clock and wanted to know when cambelt should be changed? oh and maybe water pump some of you have mentioned!!

    2. Also was wondering about Xenons, but just the bulbs not the whole kit things you can buy....any advice on these?

    3. Oh and whilst here..... the service book said it was last done at 57k on a longlife service plan but the brake fluid needs changing in april 2010, im somewhat confused?? Appreciate any help, thank you

    HI,

Cam Belt, change it @ 60k miles or 4 years, Water pumps on the diesel are not as common as petrols, however for the sake around £30 its worth fitting a new one while the cam belt is off..

A lot of VW dealers have got cam belts on offer @ the moment at £299.00 -- (ps.. where aboputs are you?)

Xenons -- 2 Options... first is fitting an OEM kit.. but will cost you loads.. 2nd option is to fit a aftermarket kit with ballests. (H7 capped fittment.)

3rd option, just use some standard H7 bulbs, - like some OSRAMS -

    -- Service --

Longlife is 2 years or 20k miles...

A standard service will not include brakefulid... hence why its due in April, Some garages do brake fulid changes after x years compared to miles..

If in doubt - get the fulid changed..

    Rick
