Hi Guys, removed myalloy wheels and put on the original rims that came with my computer as my car had to go into the bodyshop from the insurers. Now that its back with me, I'd like to put my alloys back on, do I put them straight back on, or do I need to balance/track them - which I think is gonna cost me around £20?

    Many Thanks

    Jalz

Why did the rims come with your computer?

If you've had the tyres replaced on the rims, then you should have them balanced - this is usually done by the tyre fitter when they fit them. I don't know of any tyre fitter who wouldn't recommend balancing when they fit them.

It's not a bad idea to have the tracking done every now and again, but this is done by changing the suspension/ steering settings on the car, and has nothing to do with the wheels/tyres themselves. I just had my tracking done as the tyres had worn away around the inside shoulder so much that one had popped!
