I have just fitted new rear shocks and springs from eurocarparts. Think the shocks are bilstein. They are quite different to the audi standard ones, as in they don`t come with the top part of the shock (the big top rubber washer that the spring sits in). I am assuming that i transfer this part over to the new shock.
There are also some other parts listed on the audi diagram as rubber bearings and a metal spacer that i could also transfer across to the new shocks.
Could somebody please advise on what parts i need to transfer across to the new shocks. The new shock has a circlip attached about 10cm down from the top i do not know the use of this.
The original audi shock had rubber gaitors that have perished and also some other big rubber washers on,
New shocks came with no instructions.

    Thanks for any answers...

you should just transfer the top parts over
the circlip is to locate the top mount and to stop the insert coming through the mount
if yor changing the spring and shocker i suggest changing the bumpstop as well

    Thanks for the info.

Jobs turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. Top mount bolts x4 just turning in the threads, i`ve had to grind them off. So i`ve ended up having to purchase top spring plates so put order in for new bumpstops and gaitors as well.
