HI ALL
NEW TO THIS SITE {GOOD RESORCE}
I have got a rattle in the gearbox when idle and driving untill i push the clutch,.
Dont knoe what it is but dose not sound good,only gearboxs i can locate are from 2.4 ,would these fit the 2.5tdi 4cyl. engine,or any ideas would be great,dont want to scrap van as great fuel return and will cruise motorway at 90 mph.

Hi Tom,

I have the same issue atm as am trying to fit a 2.4 gearbox to 2.5tdi.

The rear gearbox mountings are different - Will try to upload a few pics of both gearboxes this evening.

If the 2.4 rear gearbox mounting can't be used I'm gonna attempt to split gearbox. If anyone has any other info/pics on this it would be much appreciated.

My 'Brooklands' manual has been useful to remove the gearbox but doesn't mention splitting the case.
