Is it possiable to put B7 clocks into a B6 car?

The immo will be different but what about the communication ie CAN or K word?

    Would it work?

If you killed the immo (depending on the engine I could do this for you) it should work OK. I'm relatively sure that the DIS stays active when there is an IMMO fault rather than saying "Immobiliser active" constantly like on the VW/Seat/Skoda CAN cars.

What engine is it on? To be honest it might code in, don't know as I've never tried it.

keen to see if this works - I've spotted a few of the B7 2.0 TDI Instrument clusters with full colour DIS screen, but when I asked the chief sparky at my local Audi he said that physically it would fit, but that there was no way to code the B6 keys to work with the B6 immobiliser while there was a B7 cluster in the middle of the two (or something like that, after he said "no", I did tune out a bit )...

would be really good to sort out as by cluster doesn't allow me to use the Audi OEM bluetooth properly - after you press Mode and start scrolling through phone numbers, the screen keeps on reseting to "MP3 track ID" rather than the active phone numbers.... have tested with another screen and it works 100% on the newer B6 (still red) screens....

there are specific B6 colour screens... reasonably easy to get for a petrol (they were standard on S4's), but rare as all hell for TDI's and about £550 if I wanted to buy the real thing from Audi since the whole cluster has to come over!

Immobiliser wouldn't be a problem if you're prepared to remove it from the ECU. Then the car will run no matter what signal it gets.

    It's 1.9 tdi 2002 AWX engine. Not sure if it's immo2 or 3.

It'll be a 3. Either way, I reckon it can be done, either by coding it in or killing the immo, if you fancy giving it a go?
