I wouldn't trust that site as it doesn't calculate correctly. It says 44.6mpg when I calculate it 43.18mpg.

    Put in 49.92 litres.
Again using Torque MPG calculator produces 60.95mpg, Memory 2 was showing 59.Summat. I'll check in the morning.
Finally, it shown the range as 605 miles.
So car is loosening up and i am getting more used to driving it.
    Happy Days

Nice figures, but what sort of roads are you driving ? at what speeds ? and at what time of day ?. I've had 74mpg driving off peak on a long a road trip, but normal driving just outside peak times and at the speed limit gives me 50-54mpg as the bulk of the driving is on dual carriageways.

I drive about 3 miles to the motorway and try my best to do about 35mph on the Cruise Control, then about 13 miles of motorway, very up and down mind, then about 1/4 mile of A road again. Drive to work is around 6am and stick to between 50 and 60mph
Reverse journey around 3:30pm with same speed, conditions, perhaps slightly more downhill i guess. Last 3 miles take longer and have to be driven more carefully since more folks about, inc kids and parents.
Seems little point in me getting my foot down really, used to but this car seems more akin to getting comfy, music on, CC on and letting the car do the work.
I drive in lane 1 of motorways, overtake if the HGV's are getting too slow, no rush anymore

Thanks for clarifying, pretty much what I expected to hear from the figures.

If any of you guys/gals want my Excel Fuel Consumption.xls file then just let me know. It will show date, mileage, litres (coverted to gallons), MPG, fuel cost and days since last fill up. It will show a summary of mileage, litres, gallons, average MPG and fuel costs for the year or how ever long you want to enter data.

All you would have to do is delete my figures and add yours. For those of you that don't use MS Office I think OpenOffice may open it.

I'm on my third tank since starting the fuelly log - been keeping to 65-70mph on my commute on this tank. 70mph seems to give 57mpg, 65mph around 63mpg. Current average for the tank 58 (on the MFD) which is better than i've managed in the last few months - perhaps VW did tweak something in the ecu after my concerns.

GTI Manual - average 31.6 over 1900 miles, best was 35.72 on a run back from Harwich.

Have to say pretty impressed, my remapped Mk5 GT TDI only managed 41 mpg

The MFD seemed to be within 2% of the brim to brim figures, until i fitted the tuning box (last tank full), where the MFD was recording 57.6mpg, but the actual worked out just under 52mpg.

Given that the last tank did a lot of 40-50mph driving in Devon/Dorset over the last weekend i'm a little diasspointed, as at those speeds i should have been seeing nearer 56-57 average - the tuning box isn't saving fuel thats for sure, and i've not been driving any differently with it fitted either (no time trials ).

Who's tuning box did you have fitted?

Is it one of those easily detatchable ones if it as to go back under warranty?

So is there much power or torque difference from standard?
