Hi there, i have got an Audi A3 1.8T quattro sport, and lately it has started to feel like the clutch is slipping.
When i accelerate hard in second or third (but keep to the speed limits) the revs will rise quickly to around 3500-4000 and then hold slightly then drop back down to 3000-3500 and carry on going. normally i wouldnt be asking this question as i know when a clutch is going! (normally!!) but the fault seems to be intermitant. sometimes it will pull away ok.
Could it be something else that is causing it, maybe the flywheel or even something to do with the quattro system.
I have the car booked in tomorrow for the clutch and flywheel replacing so i guess i will find out, but i dont fancy forking out £800.00 if its something else.

Any advise would be very much appreciated.

    Regards

    Gareth.

Yeah, it probably is just that. im just not that good at parting with that amount of money just for a clutch. lol
Will post back when they have done the job.
