Where would the bonnet switch be on this model? do I need to remove covers or something?

    thanks

AFAIK, you don't need VAGCOM to reset the light. The switch is mounted to the bonnet catch ( No. 12 in the diagram)

Nothing to see here, move along..

No VAG-COM cannot reset the warning. The bonnet switch is inside the bonnet lock, it is a fiddly little thing to do.

    ok guys,

    thanks for the feedback.

I'd rather try the suggestion of disconnecting the battery leads and crossing them rather than splashin out cash on a switch.

    thanks
    C.

Don’t forget to cross your legs and fingers whilst crossing the battery terminals, it makes all the difference.

Disconnecting the battery isn't a bad answer. I've had the same problem on my 51 plate TDi and found that just pulling one of the leads off for a few minutes is enough to reset the alarm.....now I've just got my cooling problem to solve

To let the car computer know you have checked/topped up oil you need to open the bonnet while the ignition is switched on.
I topped up while ignition was off and the warning still kept coming on when starting and leaving the warning triangle with ! in it.
After reading about the bonnet sensor I guessed the computer needed to be on when opening the bonnet so opened the bonnet with ignition on and it worked. The computer then knew it had been checked so reset the check oil indicator.
    Thank f*** for that! Lol.

    How can I reset this?

    Thanks
