Custom Code Remap

I've recently bought a 140bhp TDI A3 (2005MY, 2.0 PD Diesel) and am thinking of having a remap done by Custom Code.
I've had a Mk4 Golf TDI 150 in the past and had a Revo remap which was very good despite having to change the clutch, but it had done a lot of miles at the time.
Has anyone had this map done, and what were the effects on fuel, hardware etc? (By hardware I mean clutch, flywheel, turbo, oil consumption)

Never had a custom code remap but have taken plenty of them off

You need to be careful of low-down torque spikes, it might make the car feel
quick but it will put a lot more strain on your clutch and can damage the flywheel. Smooth, progressive power is the key to a quick car without putting unnecessary strain on the drivetrain.

I'll stay clear of that then! I'm always a bit cautious with these things because at the end of the day, Audi spent a lot of money getting the engine management right, certainly more than aftermarket companies.
Shortly after my Revo map was done on the Golf, the turbo picked up and chucked about 3 litres of oil down the exhaust! Luckily, the car was still under VAG warranty so I didn't have to pay the £2k to put it right! The clutch started to slip at about 80k I think, and I had the flywheel changed just as a precaution.

How funny you should point me to that website! LOL!
So what are the torque figures like, and what are the effects on economy?
I spend most of my life short shifting (so using torque not power), and on the motorway....
Basically, I don't rev the car hard at all.

Torque will be around 400Nm. For the sake of your DMF and clutch I would recommend that you don't short shift as using the standard torque at really low revs isn't healthy for the drivetrain and will wear out things like the DMF and clutch more quickly.

The economy on a run should be at least 5% better.
