Hi. Have just bought an 05 Audi A4 Avant 3.0Tdi Quattro a few days ago and have noticed that it seems slightly lower at the rear passenger corner. Is this down to springs or suspension parts - I have been imagining all sorts but the car had a full traceable history and is in immaculate condition. It was a private sale so no garage to sort it out!

It is nothing to do with the ground the car is sat on as I have had it various places and it is the same.

Also I am not convinced it has the correct tyres - they are 225/40ZR18 which is not on the list on the sticker by the drivers door.

Apart from that slight concern the car is absolutely fantastic. I am thinking of having a remap but its hardly necessary I guess - would the mileage at 75000 put any of you off messing about with the engine management?

    Any replies gratefully received.

    Hi mate,
Are all the tyres showing even wear? also check if a spring isn't broken or a bush gone..
At the mileage you have it's perfect for a remap, weve mapped cars with nearly 200k on clock and had no probs. good servicing and maintainence is what helps any car.. any questions just ask mate..

    Hi,

Tyres should be 235/40 x 18, not 225/40 (which are A3 size). I would check that your wheels are not A3 wheels also as they have the wrong offset.

Thanks for the help I thought I had the 9 spoke alloys that were an option on this car - perhaps I will take a picture tomorrow so someone will know. Cheers.

If you pop off a centre cap the part No will be there.
The part no. can tell you if they are A4 wheels.

Also Quattro should have "extra load" tyres.

Thanks again. I prised off the centre cap but no part number visible - they are genuine Audi wheels though. I tried to upload a photo but it wont work. I have 9 spokes and having looked on ebay the nearest I can see are described as 18inch RS4 wheels like these.....

I am even more confused now so guess I will have to take it in somewhere but its nice to know what you are talking about when you go in!
