I've ordered a Moda in Candy White - looks good from the photos. My car should be built this week and fingers crossed will be here at the end of the month!

Fingers crossed for you, you'd be extremely lucky to get it that quick.

My wife’s was built and waiting at the docks in South Africa for a ship to Germany by the end of January.
It takes 3-4 weeks to get to Germany, it is then unloaded and waits for another ship to Sheerness, probably another weeks from Germany to dealers.

We ordered as mentioned before 11th Nov 09, and may if we are lucky get it the 2nd week of March.
That's 5 1/2 months from order to "possibly" being delivered.
Note ours was a standard build, no optional extras to hold up the build.

The biggest delay seems to be waiting for the ship to Germany. Your car may get built quite quickly, but it may wait at the dock in SA until the ship is ready to sail, all the other cars are made etc for that shipment.
You may be lucky and your car is built and goes straight onto the next ship.

At least you will get a full size spare wheel with your new polo unlike the minature space saver wheel you get with the MK6 Golf. It would appear that the cost pressures on the Polo ( built in Spain) are not the same as the Golf ( built in Germany).

I received a call from my dealer today, saying my car is schedulued to be built this week (in fact, it could already have been built). Cars are taking 3 to 4 weeks to arrive here in the UK, so he said he will contact me again in 3 weeks time to let me know where it is. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!

    9 long days to go...

My wife had a call from her salesman today.
Her car left Germany yesterday bound for blighty.
All being well she should get it early next week.

If anyone spots a transporter heading from Sheerness to the South West please let us know
It's been a long wait so I hope it is worth it.

I've ordered a 1.4 SE in Candy white, been told it'll be built 1st week in April and that I should get it by Mid May hopefully. The dealer said that it would come straight from SA to the UK, I though that they all went to Germany first, but he said that it was only initially that they were being checked in Germany. Either way it sounds like 3-4 weeks at least from SA.

    Just have to wait patiently

We picked up my wifes 1.6Tdi SE 5dr 75Bhp last week. It was ordered in October 2009 as she had a Ford Streetka that was going to be inpractical as a family car - we were expecting our first child in Feb 2010.

As it happened our daughter arrived about a month before the new Polo. I have to say that both were worth the wait.

The Polo is in Pearlescent black with optional static cornering headlights and mats. The rest of the spec is good for a supermini. Aircon, CD, Elec windows and mirrors. Ipod connection point.

The engine seems a little noisy when idling but is a real smooth ride and economy seems to be amazing. I'm 6'2" and there is loads of headroom. It's a comfy car for me, wife, baby and paraphenalia to go on days trips.

    Really really impressed.

Ooo nice! Does it come with a iPod in jack as standard, or do you have to pay for the MDI connector?

The SE model comes with an aux in jack as standard. The MDI is extra. I'm not sure how much extra use the MDI would be for me. The wife is happy with the simple 3.5mm jack connection as she is no good with technology!
