I would probably be the same as you, and added a few bits here and there from the options list.
As it was my wifes car she thought the moda fitted the bill of what extra bits she would like.
I'm not an old knacker by a long shot (38) but do feel for younger people trying to get on the property ladder for the first time.
Enjoy the car when it finally arrives.

I've ordered my Polo Moda having previously owned several BMW's, which I had highly specced . I've got used to having all the gadgets and the only thing my Polo won't have that my Z4 coupe had is xenon light and heated leather seats, none of which are essential. I think the Polo models are well specced and the inclusion of the 'packs' is a good idea - I've gone for the comfort and sensor packs as well as adding the front centre armrest and the alarm. My new Polo should be arriving in the next few weeks. At which point it will be time to say goodbye to my 1.2 '04 Twist, which I bought as a 2nd car (to my Z4 Coupe) which became my everday drive, and the BMW was just left sat depriciating in my garage.

I've just had a call from my VW dealer saying the car is due to arrive in Germany soon, so should be here within the next couple of weeks. It's only been 5 months!!

This should be the week that my Polo is built, according to the dealer anyway, hopefully will here from him soon.

Won't hold my breath going by some of the posts here.

I was told that customer ordered cars are taking priority for delivery. I've been able to wangle £100 towards extras as a result of the delay, so I'm going for the premium mats and door entry sill strips. I've also got a very good finance deal. I will definitely be taking the Serive Pack - £250 for the the first 3 services.

I'll give that a try if it does go on later, it's ordered as part of the scrappage deal and they only have 120 days from ordering to when they should deliver, so hopefully there is some sort of priority with it.

I managed to get the Service Pack for £200, this was when I was bargaining on the other options that I'd added, so not sure how much the dealer was taking off what, but worth a try to get some off it.

    Evening all,

Does anyone who has ordered a Polo recently have any updates on delivery times, etc. My wife ordered hers at the beginning of March and as far as she knows its still on track for a late June/early July delivery. Is there any way (other than the dealer) of tracking the car's progress?

    Thanks

    Andywell,

I heard form the dealer this week, I ordered on Jan 23, and was told the car was due to be built Week 13 (29 Mar) I had a call to say that it was built the week after that (5 Apr) and was just waiting on a ship to Europe. Thankfully I had another call yesterday to say that it was on the ship to Europe, around 20 days at sea and another 14 or so to reach the dealer, so all going well I should get the car in the second half of May. Around 3 months from order.

From some of the comments here, I think it's a bit of a lottery as to how long the car sits waiting for a ship. Also there was some suggestion that some of the options could hold up the build, I've no idea if this is the case, but the options that I added were the RCD510 Stereo, MDI, Multi Function Leather Wheel, the center armrest and Auto Aircon...

I'm getting my hopes up now for it being here soon :-)

Hope you don;t have to wait too long

    cheers

    Alan

    Hello

I ordered my car on 14th March and was told by the dealer it would be mid to late July so 4 months, however he said there was a long delay on the Leather seats which I ordered so it could take longer than that.

I therefore stated that if it was going to be an August delivery, that I would take the car on 1st September to get the new reg number.

I havn't been given any oher details about checking the cars progress, but on the golf forum, I think you can get an individual number and call VW directly to get an update.

I was planning to wait till beginning of June, then call my dealer for an update.
On order for 1st Sept delivery: Polo 1.2tsi 5 door Flash red, 17" Boavista wheels, climate control, convenience pack, sensor pack, winter pack, static fogs, tinted glass, multi funtion steering wheel and alacantara leather seats
