Did you order a 3 or 5 door? If you ordered a 3 door, they're built in Spain so it probably takes a lot less time to get them shipped over than the 5-door models from South Africa.

Candy white! That's the colour I wanted but the other half wasn't sold on the idea. I bet it'll look stunning
It's a 5 door, so South Africa build.

Ooo so jealous. A white or metallic blue Moda AC is the one I'd go for too, and the 1.2 in my 9N is sweet. 60 or 70 PS?

I've gone for the 60ps version, as the salesman said the £600 difference wasn't worth the extra power. To be honest, the power isn't an important factor. I've PX'd my 265bhp BMW Z4 coupe - there was no point having that much power on the daily commute!

I spoke to the garage on Monday and weren't happy when I mentioned that I was considering cancelling my order. They have agreed to compensate me though for the delay but didn't go into details. I've been told car is being built in the first week of March and should arrive 3-4 weeks after that. A likely delivery date will be the 1st week in April.

    So the waiting continues...

Maybe I should threaten to cancel mine too. Unfortunately the car I PX'd was through the scrappage scheme so it's too late to use it to buy another car.

I think there's a snowball's chance in hell of you getting the car 3-4 weeks after its built but I hope you do!

I've been waiting 13 weeks for mine.

I do hope you're wrong, but since you're still waiting for your car, I'm inclined to think you're right and the dealer is telling me what he thinks I want to hear. I can imagine getting a call from him closer to the time saying it will be delayed by a few more weeks! He did say that they are starting to arrive now and did say that my car still migh arrive sooner than expected.

As I was driving into work this morning I saw a 1.4 Reflex Silver 5-door with the 17" Boavista wheels. Oh. My. God. It looks AMAZING!

Couldn't tell if it was the SE or SEL but now I know what my car is going to look like, apart from the colour.

I think seeing it in the flesh has helped a bit with my impatience.

Trying to convince the wife to go for the 1.2 (60 bhp)
on the scrappage deal PCP at £79 per month.

Can't see how you can go wrong with this.

Anyone got one and if so whats the real world fuel consumption like?

It's lighter and more aerodynamic than the previous Polo. I get 45mpg in my 1.2 65bhp 9n and I'm not exactly an economical driver, so I'd expect at least that once everything's bedded in

I contacted a different VW garage on Friday (who incidentally had 3 new cars in their showroom). They said for factory orders, expect to wait 16-18 weeks, and also said some options were delaying build. Apparently multi-function steering wheels are hard to come by!

I am currently awaiting a test drive of the 1.2tsi engine. Does anyone know of a dealer in East Anglia who has one for a demo?

As the wait is so long to get the car once ordered, I just want to test drive it and place the order. It is so frustrating just waiting, without getting any information as to when I can try one!
