    Universal phone prep works the same for most bus or can bus the display is the only difference as mmi has more driver functions via mmi controls the can bus allows control via the mfsw and rnse if fitted.MMI has more options for sim access profile and 3G mmi supports 3 options for phone prep and can bus systems prior to 2009 offer only universal and 2009 onwards support bluetooth option with no external gsm aerial.
    Universal can be upgraded to blue tooth by swapping the bt unit as i have just retro fitted blue tooth to a 8p A3

    I've had no issues pairing both a BB storm (2007) and Curve (2009 with my 2007 A3. both phone paired asap and u[pdate each time get in the car.
