hi, hmmm guess i'd have to driveone to see how gutless it was below 1850rpm.... i have a focus TDCI 90 atm and to be honest thats not too bad, fuel economey according to the book is i think 60.1mpg but i've found mine is averaging at around 55mpg whci is a mix of driving between motorway, dual carriage and roudn town etc so i'm quiet happy with it in that respect, just fancy a change to a different manufactuer, if nothign else to compare them as i've always had Fords to date and whilst when i tend to compare cars, Fords tend to though in a few more toys etc and the price is quiet reasonably, i just can't help hearing that saying "You get what you pay for".... I was also considering the BMW 320d ED whci is due out in jan but then i heard the price is goign to be about the same as the SE (around 26k) there is just no chance of that so i've scrapped it off the list and now back to VW... i thik the Golf maybe slightly smaller than the Focus but i'll have to check them out again, i looked at sooo many specs i forgotten whcih is which lol... I'm ideally goig to get a newrly new golf with around 10/20 miles ont he clock but there is very few of them around so maybe need to go for one of the pre-reg ones... depending on price.. i'm only looking to pay around 14k for it and then trade in my car - unfortunately wont get scrappage for mine.

Will post my MPG's when I have a useful figure. I've been accelerating quite a bit today so average MPG is sitting about 48 mpg, thats 2x 10 mile motorway trips and around 20 miles town driving.

Whilst the Blue motion is a great concept the small difference in consumption compared to the new 1.6 tdi 105 PS is not very significant in my mind to warrant the extra cost. I do think the Michelin energy tyres are better than my Hankooks though!

Congrats on your new car, looks fab but strangely colleague's wife has just received hers and it looks very similar to the model below with the alloys, body skirts, the 'BLUEMOTION' front/rear badges and the light blue seat trim.

Best to have a chat with the dealer...........

Thats the newer Golf Bluemotion model as they changed it.

TBH glad I have mine - nicer alloys (IMO), and no blue interior! But I do like the side skirts and new front wing.

Yes a bi sneaky on VWs part - less than a month ago the configurator was still showing the same spec as a SE (ie Atlanta 16" wheels etc), but with the other blue motions bits like the highline MFD. The Bluemotion is now more in line with previous bluemotion models with smaller wheels, bodykit etc.

Given the price hasn't dropped i'd much prefer the early MkVI model.

If you check the VW site carefully there's only one full Bluemotion model, with emissions of 99, which has the blue interior seat bases etc and is badged Bluemotion, but as you chose an SE spec car you must have chosen the bluemotion technology engine as an option, which is not quite the same, which has emissions of 107, hence no Bluemotion badging as in the case of yours, but still has the stop/start function. I think the Bluemotion model is free road tax, and the SE Bluemotion is £35 due to the slightly higher emissions.

What I'm saying is there's a Golf Bluemotion model, or, as in your case, a Golf SE model with bluemotion technology engine which you must have chosen - I think.

Personally I really like the look of your SE, especially in reflex silver.

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong here.
