air con smelling !!

as title suggest my air con smells BAD for first 5-10 mins of a run then appears to go.Either that or i get used to smell !!Is there any thing i can change ie filter or is it straight to specialist ??

You can change the pollen filter.. but it wont make much difference i bet if its just when you put the air-con on..

I would sugguest getting the system serviced and cleaning..

Got a can of Comma Air Con cleaner from Halfords - £12. worked a treat. Kills all the fungii and bugs that have been breeding in your air con ducts!!

Why should bugs and fungi bread in an air conditioning unit? Why do some people have it for years and have no problem.

You have to use it regularly otherwise the warmth and moisture encourage breeding when the system is idle. Once you have a certain amount they won't go away without chemical warfare.
