We are looking at ordering a 2.0 TDi 140 Blackline in March but was wondering if it will still be available for MY2010. Is stop/start being fitted to the 2.0 TDi I know it is on the 1.6 TDI and 1.4TSi and the A4 has it on the 2.0 TDi already along with recuperation basically the same as BM's ED stuff.

Final question anyone know what the updates are for the MY2010?

    Thanks

I was told by my dealer that the black edition is just that a limited edition that im sure wasnt available to order after end of sept i think. I could be wrong and hopefully i am and you can order still.

Deffo go for the 2.0tdi 140. Ive just got a new one with the Common Rail engine and its superb. The 1.4 i found an odd engine to drive with sounds very loud as you have to boot it and not very quick. Cant comment on the 1.6tdi as ive never driven it. As for start stop no the A3 does not have it on the current 2.0tdi like mine that said the new CR is so much more efficient than my old version which i thought was good for fuel. Its very very quiet like a petrol and after collecting my car last week and doing 50 miles on the motorway was upto 58mpg.....then filled up and the DIS said 720miles on the tank....my old A3 (07 reg) could only get 535 miles on a tank....enough said for im a big fan of the diesel!

Not sure what the updates are for 2010 as far as i know my car is a MY2010 version. The latest DIS, engine, lights etc.
A3 2.0Tdi CR Sport Sportback - 59 reg - Ice Silver - Adaptive Xenons with LED - Bluetooth prep Low - 5 Spoke design alloy wheels - Luggage Pack - Non smokers pack

    Thanks
Different engine layout in the A3 compared to the A4 - I am sure the A3 on the 2.0TDI will get Start/Stop but when. Your guess is as good as mine.

Black Edition is still available at the moment But for how long ?

Is CO2 an important factor in your purchase?

Thanks for the replies current brochure still has blackline in so who knows.....Sure another special eddtion will follow. We are looking at the next reg change as our current workhorse since going to one car is a 1.9D 150 BLS Caddillac thankfully under warranty untill next Sept as the 1.9D Fiat/GM lump as not been too good (EGR valve replaced and new flywheel) not in the same league as the VAG/BM derv,s. Aloth avg 43 mpg not bad for a big car.

Co2 not an issue untill June had a 118d as well with stop/start and gopt use to it and did help mpg slightly did 47mpg avg. Unsure on 1.4TSi drove a 1.8TSI Passat CC and was very impressed engine was a peach. But being £300ish more 140 TDi makes the most residual and economical sense. Performance in on par with the 118d which I found more than adequate just lack of boot space and ok rear leg room precludes it. 1er is more driver orientated than a good family hatch too small for our needs. Extra space of a Sportback seems about right for us.

You can't order A3 black editions after 24th Sept. This will be the final cut off date. Same as with the A5 s-line special edition also finishes on this date.

Thanks for that, bit of a shame will have to see if they do another special ready for March 2010. Although 24th is the end of their quarter and they do often decide to continue with a Special maybe pushing it for another two sales quarters have to wait and see.......... The Technik ends 24th according to the website, although that will deffo go when the 1.2TSi engine goes into production standard S line is ok but Blackline was worth the extra 1K ish (

I was led to believe the new A3 is not out until Spring 2011??? Never too keen at being first in line for a new car, ususal intial bugs lack of discount and offers. We do want rid of the Cadillac by Sept when the warranty runs out from the pics the new A3 will be an evoloution not a revoloution in design terms.

Was only pulling your leg. The pic is more the result of someone with photoshop than anything to do with Audi! Amazing what you can find on the net. Enjoy your car.
