Flashing Coil Light

Hi there,

We have a 03 1.9TDI Polo Sport, the coil light (that usually appears and extinguishes before start up), has been flashing at me for a few days.

The car isn't showing any other warnings and appears to be driving fine. I've had previous engine management issues before and these did cause a change in performance.

Any ideas on what sort of problems this might relate to? Would it be a faulty coil? Also, main dealers are expensive now for this age of car so if anyone could reccomend a decent independant to take it too, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Probably a faulty brake light switch cross check fault, have the car scanned for fault codes.
