The oil light on the dash display has come on...the yellow one (not the red one) and also displayed is ''check oil level''

New oil level sensor has been fitted and fully serviced and checked with vag-com 'no faults found'

Any idea's PASSAT TDI ''HIGHLINE'' 2004 54 PLATE

There is a fuse on the relay plate. I would clean that incase of changed resistance all though I doubt that is the fault. Check the wiring, look for anywhere that could be rubbing and earthing. Finally it could be a faulty dash panel insert. Goodluck

Hi, don't know if you still have this problem, but I had it on mine.

Took it to a VAG indy and they plugged VAGCOM in. Got no errors showing, but they suggested the bonnet catch switch as a first try.

I was going to change mine after I did my alternator, but found the light had gone off once I'd had the battery disconnected for a couple of hours.

Another possibility is a dodgy oil level sensor in the sump.

Faulty bonnet switch, if the dash does not see the bonnet being opened, it will not reset the low level warning. Disconnecting the battery also resets the light if the switch is faulty.
