Recently about two weeks ago, I started to hear some sort of tapping noise behind underneath the glove box. This would appear for 5mins or so and then go away (not go away completely but the sound level would go down significantly).

This lasted for about 3-4 days, and then the noise has now gone away completely. However, the climate control however does not appear to be working fine any more 4oo5 times, even if I turn the knob to full 26 DegC / set the fan to full speed.

I suspected this to be the classical "climate control tapping noise" problem and took the car to local VW dealer in Gloucester. They were quite helpful and checked the car thoroughly, but it being a sunny hot afternoon, it all turned out to be working fine at the time (as usual the car will never show the fault at dealer's place). They did suggest that if the problem repeats then bring the car back in for further checks, but I am wondering whether this is a genuine problem, or is it that Golf is designed to have this feature by default.

My car is about a year old and have used it since brand new.

Any help I would much appreciate it.

Regards
