As i've been here in the UAE for a while, an recently placed an order for an A4, i couldn't help but notice the price differences in the standard spec, as well as the equipment for the basic A4 1.8t.

    Leather is standard
as well as a few other things that aren't standard back in the UK..

Its the same the world over for most cars. Basically they get away with what they can charge for in some markets.

US get lots of things standard that we have to pay for. I think they get the B&0 standard and leather. They have completely differernt levels of spec aswell including a S Line interior and exterior packages.

Oh ok, so Blighty is still a rip off.

over here they spec it up according to the Engine.
1.8 is the entry level spec
    2.0 is mid range
    3.2 the full shabang - including B&O

I guess the marketting guys know what they're doing !

p.s. the 3.2 has been scrapped in the US. It simply didn't do enough different from the 2.0T but had higher emissions.

well thats the thing, i deliberately didn't go for the 3.2 here in Abu Dhabi, cos the Torque figures..
the 2.0t has 350nm of Torque, compared to the 3.2 which has 330, so basically if i'm correct more torque mean better pulling power
