    i have a 2.0 auto passat 51plate and my engine is very loud when im driving, jus serviced but still the same any suggestions please?

    how is it noisy?????? have you got the right grade of oil in engine.......did you flush engine??????
    B5 passat needs a supercharger and does'nt leak

    If it's a rattle from the rear of the engine, then the cam-chain tensioner is not working. This can be the result of low oil pressure, so I suggest you have that checked first before you cause irreparable damage by continuing to drive it.

    engine flushed and fully syn oil is there but the engine is just very loud...
    no rattling just loud n noisey.

    Is the car new to you? this is how they are, not very good sound deadenning compared to other makes.

    o ok! yea cars new to me i guess iv been use to a tdi highline so 2.0 auto petrol sounds loud to me

    50k 2.0 petrol sounds noisier at speed than I reckon a Diesel will. At about 80 my 2003 petrol Passat is much louder than even my old 1996 105k Accord (petrol) ever was. I forget how many RPM it is doing at 80mph but it is less than my Accord but still noisier.

    I have got used to it now but when I first bought the Pasty I had to keep checking the badge on the boot at start-up to make sure it was not a diesel as it clatters a little!!! So all in all the diesel is probably quieter

    Mind you door trim and seat belt buckles rattle so much it is a pleasure to hear the nice sounding engine
    One German, Two Italian.
    It's a Mercedes Benzzzz though
