Your timing is impeccable. I have recently had similar problems.

    Read this:

    http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=75959

It's unlikely to be a turbo (being broken) problem as apparently they are pretty solid units, but you should be able to suss it out following the above thread.

    What's your engine code?
I'm pretty confident your car has an ecu.

If you take out the ashtray, slide the panel to the left of the ashtray across to the right to reveal the OBD diagnostic port (way of communicating with the ecu) This will confirm it.

Hi, I had EXACTLY this problem with mine. Prooved to be a little boost control valve situated near the air mass meter. The valve wasn't allowing the waste gate to open so turbo was over boosting, engine ECU sees too much boost so backs off the throttle to protect itself. The control valve is mounted on the inner wing by 2 rubber pegs, has 2 or 3 braided pipes rubber pipes and a wiring pulg attached ot it. Try to borrow 1 from a donor car and test it. ps, the rubber pegs usually snap so be careful.

    In short, no.
You could probably increase the boost, but then you have to match it with increased fueling.
Better to just buy a tuning box off ebay if that's what you want to do.

If you pick carefully you should be ok. Don't just go for the cheapest, do some forum research and find out the type people have used before that worked
