Golf Alarm Horn

I own a 1994 Golf Diesel and am having problems with the alarm system. It seems to be arming itself randomly even when the driver's door is not locked.

I am not concerned about keeping the alarm working and would disable it if I could.

I am 500 kms from the nearest dealership.

I have 2 questions:

1. Where is the alarm horn located so I can at least disable it while I am working on the car before the neighbors come over and disable me.

2. Any advice on troubleshooting or disabling the alarm system would be greatly appreciated.

Might be worth taking a look at the alarm fuse in the fuse box, and removing it (if the alarm is operated using the fuse). It's annoying having a faulty alarm, especially those late nights/early mornings when you're sleeping and having to wake up to the sound of a car alarm, not knowing whether its yours.
