still pondering over wheel selection. The 19" double seven spokes look good but wonder about two things (1) the harshness of the ride, and (2) the cost of tyre replacement.
Went to my dealer and he advised me against 19"s with quattro.
I pointed out that Audi used to do the same wheel in an 18" for the A4 and still list them for the A3.
Upon making enquiries the salesman advised that I cannot get them as an option, Why not!! has anybody else tied to get this wheel can anybody through any light on this matter. I think it is a poor do on Audi's part not to have this option

Since I have these 19" wheels with quattro, I'd like to find out what b.s. this dealer is coming up with. I suppose he knows better than the German factory.

Another with the 19's and quattro. I don't find the ride hard at all. I'd probably opt for the 5 spoke 19's now, they are more expensive but less people have them!

Indeed, one of my main reasons for sticking with the standard 18" wheels on the S4 was because almost every single A4 (and most A3s, A5s etc it seems. Plus 50% of all modded cars in holland.....) have the RS-like 19" wheels. Yes, the 7 spoke RS wheels do look really nice but they are too common IMHO. The S4 wheels are S4 only so I don't expect to see too many around. I looked at the 19" triple 5-spoke ones and they do look nice too but I decided to stick to the 18" in then end. It's all down to choice, there are some ugly wheels out there but pretty much all the audi A4 offerings are plenty nice - not sure I'd go with the 20" rims I've seen a few people using though.

Yeah, the 19s do seem to fit the wheel arches better of course but I had to stop spending at some point I

I have a set of these 19" wheels for sale with tyres if you are interested, they have been fully and professionally refurbished. I have bought the new 5 spoke hollow alloys of audi now!
Make an offer if you are interested.

If you are worried about the 18" wheels not filling the wheel arch why not plum for the 30mm sports suspension like I did. I challenge anyone to notice a significant difference in the ride over the standard 20mm S-line drop, but it makes quite a difference to the appearance of the car. Its also one of those rare things...a free upgrade!

I think that filling the wheel arches actually is getting at the fact that the wheel combo with the 19 inch wheel and tyre is physically bigger (rolling radius/diameter) than the 18 inch set-up. That minimal difference can make quite a difference to the overall look. Its not just about ride comfort. Whereas the alleged problems with 19 inch/-30mm and the inner wheel arches (in EXTREME!! circumstances) could also leaving you with a car that just looks slammed.
I have 18 inch wheels with the 30mm drop and I find the general look to be aggressive and civilised without looking like you just crashed through the front window of Halfords and every bling and tacky add-on option stuck to your car as you burst back onto the road (The Fast and the Furious Effect!)
