Thread: Airbag Warning Light on permanent

    Default Airbag Warning Light on permanent – 06-09-2009,09:59 PM
    On moving drivers seat forward, got a permanent airbag warning light, first time it reset, then moved seat again came on and now will not reset.

    Faults code is 01217 - Side Airbag Igniter drivers side (N199)
    possibly resistance too high or upper limit exceeded? Causes are possibly faulty igniter or wiring.

    As I have very limited knowledge of this issue, any help appreciated.

    I have located the wiring plug connector under drivers seat, all looks ok, took it apart cleaned it,but how to check if it's OK, and where the igniter i s located I haven't a clue.

    Any help/advise much apprecited

    A3 Sport TDi 2.0 2004 3 door

    Remove the connector and solder the wires together.
