    hi all,
    our passat 1.8 turbo engine light has just came on AGAIN!!!. 1 month after coming from local v.w garage. this time rough idle aas well/ misfire. may be ignition coil packs . looking for some helpfull advice. last time in garage , lambda probe sensor changed. anyone help would be much appreciated.
    was there a recall for the coilpacks. been looking through internet for same problem.

    The only advice I can give you is to have a fault code read done, get a print out of the code (hopefully either a VAG specific or P code), have the code cleared and post the result so we can see what is stored.

    yes it was ignition coil, dunno what one but now im £94 lighter...ouch!
    on another note.... can you change the coils without resetting the fault codes afterwards. or must they be reset for the car to run properly?

    £94 for one coil pack, code read and a little labour is quite fair, I can’t see the ouch there.

    yes crasher part was £25. rest was test and reset. its just my dry sense of humour.
    i will probably buy the other 3 though.
