OK, i just got my first VW, a 2000 Golf MK4 1.6SE. I'm only 19 OK, so no, i couldn't get a bigger engined one.

Anywho, the radio has just gone mad. Basically, i was driving along, hit a pothole (because, admittedly, i'm not used to the width - it's much wider than my old Clio), but it wasn't a major bump, akin to a speed bump taken a bit too briskly. This caused the radio to turn off and not come back on (well, i assume it was the bump) and now the backlighting of the radio stays on even when the car is off and locked. No button does anything.

Advice? (I don't have the instructions) I assume maybe a connector has been knocked out the back, but i cannot remove the radio, Halfords? local gargae? VDub Main Dealer? (Cheaper the better - as i say, i'm 19).

I'm not being funny, but a life without 5Live Sport is no live, no live at all.

    hi,
Its probably just a connector come loose, take it to halfords and ask them to pop your stereo out so you can check connections, anything other than that they will charge you for!
If it turns out you need a new stereo i have my old gamma unit(with cd) that i could be persuaded to sell if your stuck!

You can get some cheapo Beta/Gamma radio removal keys from ebay for a couple of quid. I've heard you can also do it by using a pair of metal nail files.
