    Hi,

Recently bought 2.4 SE manual petrol. Clutch is heavy with high biting point (rest of car in such good nick for price which is why i bought)

Any experience on cost of clutch replacement? So far seen around £300 - 400 mark

    Thanks

My 2.4 clutch is also high (but not heavy).I understand the high bite is usual for these.I wouldn't worry myself until it started slipping as I understand it's a mongrel of a job to replace them and you might as well do the flywheel while you're at it (so a bit of slip shouldn't hurt).Have heard as much as 2k(-1200 quid) to get the job done here in Australia but that being said , any work on Euro cars down here costs a bomb.(The clutch kit alone in Oz cost about 600 aussie bucks)

What do you mean by "Heavy" is the pedal stiff to operate?
    What mileage?

Try GSF, I recently purchased a new clutch for my 2.8 quattro from them for £160. My clutch was also very hard to press down with a high biting point. It wasn't until the clutch was changed that it was discovered the old clutch was completely shot. I had experienced no slipping from the old clutch whatsoever. Just goes to show how good Audi's are. Once I drove the car with the new clutch it felt like a brand new car.
    Hope this helps.
