1.9 TDI service question....please :)

Hi,

I've had the 2001 1.9 TDI Passat wagon for a couple of months now. I really like it!

The 'service in 3000km' warning is showing up on starting now.

The car has done 130,000 km, what is actually done on this service, I have always done my own oil changes ect.

Is there anything special for this service?

It depends what was done on the last service. I would change the oil and filter, air filter, pollen filter and fuel filter. Then you know you are good for at least a year or 15,000km. Check brakes all round and consider changing brake fluid if you don't know when it was last done. Coolant should be ok but if unsure ask a garage to check with a refractometer, not a hand tester. As DIY goes, it's all easy work.

sorry for the VERY late reply!!!

I have been away for months and have finally returned and done my service: oli, oil filter, air cleaner/(pollen filter?). I have a fuel filter but didn't have the correct size hex key to undo the fuel filter, I'll get one from work next week.

After putting everything back together I went for a test drive and found an unexplained problem to do with the turbo system, I'll start another thread no and see if I can get some help,
