I hope you were kidding ini, or perhaps you don't realise the gravity of the offence they would be committing.
To get a third party to say they were driving makes you guilty of perverting the course of justice, just as giving a false name or address brings the same charge.
Either perverting the course of justice or attempting to pervert the course of justice will bring you a custodial sentence just as it would for your elderly relative.
Loss of job, and a criminal/prison record to boot for a couple of hundred quid fine and some licence points?
You did it, they caught you, just as they've caught me and thousands of others, face up to your responsibilities and take your punishment.
Committing further offences just makes it worse mate.

Unfortunately in most mail order 'justice', the only thing that matters is that the fine is paid.

My earlier comment was partly in jest.

If you get caught speeding, you face the consequences.

easiest way is get ur boss to write you a letter stating how important it is for you to drive to work as its priority, that helped my friend out and he got away with a 60fine....with the skintness, they legally cant take the whole lot of the fine off u as they have to agree with terms suited to u, i.e if u say u can pay fiver a week (wether u can afford the whole fine cash or not) just to annoy them, lol, then they can only take 5 a week off ya. simple. gd luck

Unfortunatley i am in the position of reporting motorists for excess speed as a Police Officer.

Sadly when you break a speed limit and if (and when) you are caught by either a Gatso, Truvelo, Static Cam or Police Vehicle using Provida VASCAR you must accept the consequences. Speeding kills hundreds every year and i see a fair amount of RTC's whereby excess speed v's inexperience is the main contributory factor.

My most memorable and horrific RTC was on the M1 whereby a 21 year old female travelling to work was hit in her 1993 Peugeot 306 XL by a driver in a Vectra who was travelling at an average of 102.2mph. He was being followed by an unmarked video vehicle when he struck the Peugeot from behind that had started to overtake a slow moving vehicle in the centre lane. The Car hit the central reservation and the vehicle flipped, according to the video car, about 4 times before hitting a bridge pillar. The vehicle then caught fire on impact with the bridge. We arrived 9-10 minutes after the accident to a scene of carnage.

Myself and my colleague were then sent to Leicester where we delievred the news to her mum and fiance, the scene got worse when we learned that her dad was killed by a drunk driver in South Yorkshire only 4 years earlier.

The driver of the Vectra was charged and admitted death by dangerous driving, he committed suicide not long after being released from prison.

2 Families devestated by excess speed v's inexperience.

Please guys slow down, please stick to the limits and drive safely.

    Regards

Makes you think what speeding can do, not only to YOU but your family, and the families of who get hurt. Theres more to it than just writing your car off.

    THINK! Slow Down

I had to cringe the other day when I heard on our local news that the police clocked a motorbike doing 170!!! on a dual carraigeway just down the road from me. He was going to quick for them to identify the number plate....

Imagine if a lorry had pulled out to overtake without checking there mirrors, as they always do. They would be picking his body parts up form a large area.....

That sort of speed is disgusting....

However, I normally drive at around 85 - 90 on a quite motorway in clear conditions and think that there is no harm in that, If I approach traffic on the inside lane, I will slow down and crawl past, so they can see me.

I have also given 6 points to my wife, 6 points to my mother in law and 3 to my grandma in the past, so my licence is clean.

I don't mind paying the fine, just the points that are a bad thing
