you can but direct from Ross-Tech. You can use a 3rd party cable from ebay and run the shareware for free. but if you want to do more then you will need to register the computer it is installed on for $99 with Ross-Tech.

If you have windows Vista or above then you'll need the KII-USB interface or better still the HEX-USB+CAN. these cables allow you to run the software on any computer as the cable is the lisense...

You can buy these interface from http://www.gendan.co.uk/ or http://www.ilexa.co.uk/acatalog/vagcom.html

    They are authorised dealers

Thanks, seems a little expensive for such a small programme.... However i suppose it pays for itself after the 1st time of use

The only tool in the aftermarket that truly competes with the VW factory tool ($7,000+) - and it sells for $99 and you say that is expensive? Wow!

Dont get me wrong i think its a fantastic little programme but why hasnt anyone else released something to compete with vagcom that basically works in the same way ?

Seems to be expensive for what it is, thats all i am saying. I mean the file is so small its unreal, i have mp3 files bigger than this programme but the only thing wrong with the mp3 files is that they wont read and erase my error codes

It not the size of the program its what it does.....there is another tool for VAG group cars apart from the VAG Genuine tool and it costs £5000+ So £250 is peanuts and thats only 2 diagnostic scans at the dealership.

Its an amazing tool, if you look at other manufacturers and the toos available to the DIY Mechanic its makes me stay with VAG cars

At todays exchange rate $99.00 equals £59.40.

If that is not cheap I don't know what is.

And whats more, we even get customer support from Rosstech themselves. Bearthebruce and occassionally Ewu Ross pop in on here to offer their wisdom.

    That is priceless !

Where else can you get Bruce's fantastic advice intermingled with the occasionally beautiful acerbic comment.

Best program I've ever purchased, ever.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.
