    Hi

can i ask for advice. have found both the tsi 122 and the tdi 140 for about the same price and with the same delivery time. the tsi 122 is the last one in stock. the tdi is via a broker and so discounted.

which is the better car ? i drove the tdi 105 and was unimpressed by the amount of acceleration. i do about 15k miles a year and keen for a car with a good resale value in 3 years, or to keep it longer and benefit from the better MPG

    Thanks

At the moment, I think the Diesel would hold it's value better, but I think you need to decide which you like the most....

What are the Specs of the cars?

    thanks, both spec are SE
when i test drove a TDI 105 it seemed very slow especially around town. it had only done 15 miles though so not sure how much it would bed in. im used to a 2l bora though so perhaps this is the reason.

The 1.6L 105TDI is definately tuned more for Efficiency rather than performance so it may feel a little slow, the 2L 140TDI is a different matter

take a 140 tdi for a test drive that will make your mind up
I think the Diesel would hold it's value better and for the miles you are doing much better on fuel

I do wonder how the 1.6 would remap though....

I've not driven a 105, but I wouldn't want anything less than 140 nowadays as the engine can still return decent economy.

thanks again. Also found a TDI 2.0 GT (as opposed to the SE) for only £1000 more - is this worth it ? is the gt a much better drive. Car is for commuting 90 miles / day on main roads, but enjoy quick driving on the back roads. Thanks
