Hi, I have a problem with my immobilizer light flashing after I tried coding a key with a VAG TACHO which is now in the bin. The engine runs ok but the warning light flashes all the time. I have a registed ROSS-TECH VCDS but I'm not that clever with it yet. Anyone got any sugestions, they would be much appreciated.

If the car is running and the warning light is flashing it sounds as though the immobiliser in your ECU has been defeated. Have you tried recoding the key with VCDS? Do you have your SKC?

Thanks SHARK 90 for your reply, I don't have my SKC but would dearly love it. The key I was trying to code I bought off Ebay and I think it's a dud, it started the car but the light flashed now it's put the orginial key in the same mode. What sort of money is it to get my SKC from the agent and will they readerly give it, Thanks again.

Do you have any fault codes in the immobiliser, ECU or instrument cluster if you scan with VCDS?

I can get your SKC for you but it'll mean a trip down the A1 or for you to take the ECU out and post it down to me.

SKC retrieval is usually £40 for your car. Would be good to see you at the open day!
