Hi, I have a 1999 Golf Gti 1.8t and I recently bought a VAG-COM cable from ebay to use with VAG-COM 409.1. VAG-COM recognises my cable when I connect it and test the port but when I connect to my car it doesnt communicate with it at all.

Can anybody help me please? Or has anyone else had this problem?

Have you turned the ignition on so that the dash lights come on, but the engine is not running?
Try wiggling the cable as it enters the port as they are a pretty tight fit sometimes.
Failing that I can't think of what else to suggest.
