    Hi,

Expecting our first-born in a few months, and my 2005 Passat doesn't have ISOFIX brackets in the back - and I'd like to fit them.

I've contacted my local VW dealer, and they want about £85 for a pair of brackets - which seems quite expensive for what they are!

There are a few Passats breaking on eBay, and a few local / national VW breakers yards, but all seem a little confused when I ask about the ISOFIX mounts and typically tell me "They're sold" or "The seats have gone" etc. obviously knowing very little about the fact that they're brackets that are bolted to the floor-pan, and if you wouldn't realise they were there unless you looked or knew.

So - in a last ditch attempt I'm appealing to the wealth of knowledge that's here and asking if anyone, anywhere knows where I can source the ISOFIX brackets for less than the price at a main dealer.

As I was made redundant the same weekend that we found out my wife was expecting, back in April (we've been trying for a few years, so it was a blessing that it DID happen!) cash is pretty tight right now. Neighbours have lent us the Maxicosi ISOFIX seat, I just need to find the bracket.... one would suffice!

    Any help appreciated....

    Thanks

Had this problem a year ago, in the end I decided to use the Maxicosi Easyfix Base on the Cabriofix using the seat belts, it was secure.

However look here for the isofix solution, you should be able to get the bracket and bolts for ~£30.

HTH, and congratulations by the way.
Nothing to see here, move along..

Thanks Hex... I've seen that post, and it is that info that has prompted me to do this... well, that and our neighbour lending us the isofix base and seat.

Bracket from a dealer is £40, and the bolts are another £2.50... so £85 for both sides, or about £42.50 for one.

As cash is tight I was hoping to find a circa £20 option from a breakers, or from someone that was otherwise willing to / looking to part wih the brackets (like PXing their Passat / A4 / A6 and had the ISOFIX mounts).

Unfortunately it is looking more and more like the only solution is VW main dealer prices....

Will keep looking on eBay and emailing breakers until I simply HAVE to buy them new, in a couple of months.

    Hi MRShades,

I am facing the same issue - bought a Passat MK5 Variant equipped with screw thread for ISOFIX bracket only, not fully installed ISOFIX. I live in Hungary, bracket is quite pricy here, up to approx. €90 or so at VW dealers. Either on EBay the best offer was about €60+shipping costs which altogether is closely the same amount of money, not to mention the time I spend on waiting for the delivery.
Do you know any local source in UK for buying them? (I think once dealer is found with a sensible offer I can arrange for shipping someway.)

    Thank you, Laszlo
