Can anybody help me...... I've had enough of looking at the poor state of my rear door trim (the small black triangle which is situated next to the window glass a few inches above the rear door handle).

My question is how do I remove the offending trim, as I have already bought 2 x new ones. At first I thought they were just held on with a single security bolt which is accesed by prising a smal plastic trim panel from inside the car, but after removing that it seems it is held on elsewhere ??

    Any help or advise appreciated.

Hope you didn't go to the trouble of taking the door card, window frame and window lifter out/off yet as Kenney I reckon is referring to another part.

On my Avant , S4 99.5, the same part you're referring to is just a pull-off part. Held in place by a horizontal plastic stud, friction-fit, and the top part of the door card at that corner of the door the triangle is at.
With all trim in place, and not a screwrdriver in sight, open the back door and pull the trim concerned in towards car while pulling at about 30-40 degrees upwards (where ground level = 0 degrees).

Fits back in by setting it in place initially from the same angle as above then using sharp tap with ball of hand.

    Worked fine for me
