    Hi....just bought an Audi A4 2003 Tdi...noticed a rectangular gap just to the right of the brak fluid..i was wondering if anyone can post a pic of their engine bay so i can see if there shoudl be something there.....the only way i can describe it is it looks like a metal case......

    If you mean to the cars left, there should be a cover over the battery.

    Cheers for that it is to my right as i look at the car engine. i will try and get a pic....when i get home.

    You probably mean the ECU box which is not covered by the plenum chamber cover.

    That is on the cars right but his left looking at the engine. This is why I get stressed about left and right changing depending on how you look at it. It is why I stick to the cars left and right as viewed sitting in the car looking forward.

    Same on mine.

    I think it may have something to do with the optional auxilary heater, but don't quote me on that.

    The brake fluid is under the windscreen, that is the power steering fluid reservoir. There is a cover over the plugs on some.
