My ol' faithfull won't start after 6 years and 205000 breakdown free miles!!

I've noticed that the glow plug light is not lighting up on start up.

The fuses on top of the battery are fine, glow plugs are also fine but there is no power to the glow plug harness??

I'm assuming that the glow plug relay is the culprit here though rarely failing?

Any clues where this relay is, the replacement I got is no. 202 and there is no relay numbered 202 on the relay board under steering wheel?

Please can you help me get my '98 110 GT Golf back on the frog!

Many thanks for any glow plug light shed on the matter.

I was thinking very breifly, this glow plug relay 202 that I've ordered, any ideas if this is a superceded relay for the 103? or is for another model? Will it work, the seller on ebay recons it will work fine.

I'll have to wait and see, will keep you posted.

Could well be a replacement for 103, i don't know, but if you remove the contact on the temp sensor, see if the glow plugs then work
