hadnt used my a4 for a while, and had to recharge the battery, the problem i have now is the central locking wont work. I can open front doors using the key. (never had a keyfob). The key i have only opens the front doors, not the boot. This happened once before, but once i drove the car around for a week or 2, the central locking started to work again.
This time, i am really in a fix, as i have a flat tyre, and my spare is in the boot, also, i was about to change rear pads and disks, as i have major problems with passenger side rear brake, so driving it like this is out of the question.......does anyone know how i can get in the boot? does the central locking have its own battery somewhere?

I take it the key will not open the boot lock, because, the lock is seized, due to not being used.Check the fuse for the central locking

i think its a workshop key if it will only work in door and ign.
there was a guy on ebay who if you sent him a digital photo of your existing key he would cut a new one for you, ive used him a few times but cant find a current listing

The strange thing is, last time i had battery problems the central locking stopped working, but after recharging the battery and driving around for about a week, the central locking started working again. Very strange.
