Thanks crahser! I bought the tool yesterday and fixed it today. Worked wonderfully! Now one of the rear caliper piston is stuck to the point that it bend the rewind tool plate. Time for a pint!

Time for a new caliper! Insist on being supplied with a new TRW unit, don't be fobbed off with an exchange unit, VW say those calipers can't be repaired. The only thing we will fit is new TRW, the part number doesn't have an E at the end if it is new.

A good Derby lad. I could do with some help with my daughters Polo 6C, which has a caliper slide pin thread that appears to be worn. I have put new discs and pads on and found that 1 of the slide pins won't tighten up fully. The insert looks like the job. Crasher, are you willing to travel to Derby to fit me an insert?

Hi Crasher, sorry but I didn't realise the you have your own repair workshop. I am new to asking for help and posting on forums, as I generally only look. I wasn't trying to get a freebie. I was thinking of getting everything stripped on the car ready for the insert to be drilled and fitted. Naturally all paid for. Possibly best to contact you at your place of work. Apologies if any offence, just looking for some assistance.
